Between 2022 and 2023, I spent four months designing and developing an asynchronous e-Learning competency assessment for nurses caring for patients with musculoskeletal issues. It's intended use was as an assessment of nursing team's knowledge base in prevention, recognition, and nursing actions to care for patients presenting with or at high risk for a complication. It was also created to be used as an onboarding tool with new hires to assess baseline knowledge or to use with staff as a periodic ongoing assessment of competency. Within the course, learners would examine specific patient scenarios to assess knowledge of care for patients of different ages and from pre- through post-operative stages.
